Freightliner’s proprietary system, utilizing Stoneridge’s MirrorEye technology, uses external cameras and in-cab digital monitors to provide increased side visibility and safety. When integrated with Detroit Assurance, the factory-installed MirrorCam System improves driver visibility, minimizes driver fatigue, and contributes to a safer driving experience.
The advanced Intelligent Braking Control System brings together service brakes powered by brake-by-wire technology with pneumatic backup, resulting in smoother, more confident braking, especially in sudden stops. Deceleration with Comfort Braking provides equal brake force distribution, resulting in more even lining wear. Also included is the new electronic park brake, which helps to mitigate roll-away incidents and is automatically engaged if forgotten when the driver’s door is opened at two miles per hour or less, or when the ignition is keyed off and the driver leaves the driver seat for more than three seconds.
The Dual Stage Intelligent LED Headlights increase visibility, providing 30% greater coverage than the previous model. They’re engineered to melt away ice in cold environments and eliminate condensation in minutes with no driver intervention required. Impact-resistance tested, these headlights also help improve safety, driver comfort, and uptime.
The next generation of safety is here. The Detroit Assurance® Suite of Safety Systems with Active Brake Assist 6 features a number of updates to help keep your business running smoothly. Get ready for next-level safety performance and driver comfort.
Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA6) with fused radar and camera technology, ABA6 provides automatic emergency braking to help mitigate potential collisions in a wide range of scenarios, including stopped vehicles in visible curves, stopped vehicles in adjacent lanes, and stationary or moving pedestrians in the roadway, helping enhance safety and support uptime.
Cross Traffic Assist (CTA) is designed to bring added confidence to busy intersections by identifying and tracking vehicles crossing the truck’s path from either side. When a potential collision risk is detected, the system can provide an audible and visual warning and can initiate braking, typically partial braking and, depending on the likelihood of impact, full braking if needed.
Available on Freightliner Cascadias built beginning in 2027.
Side Guard Alert 2 (SGA2) alerts drivers to vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists on both driver- and passenger-sides – from the front of the cab to the end of a standard trailer. SGA2 is a passive collision mitigation system created to keep the driver in control. Rather than de-throttling or stopping the vehicle, the system warns the driver of moving people or objects on either side, alerting them before making a turn or lane change that could result in an incident.
Active Side Guard Assist 2 is engineered to bring greater confidence to every turn. It monitors objects on both sides of the truck and can apply braking if a turn is attempted when a potential collision risk is detected. For left-hand turns, the system monitors oncoming traffic to help identify potential collision risks when a signaled turn is attempted. For right-hand turns, it monitors pedestrians and objects in the passenger-side blind spot and can apply braking if a turn is attempted.
Available on Freightliner Cascadias built beginning in 2027.
Active Lane Assist 2 (ALA2) is a suite of lane-keeping features designed to help keep drivers and motorists safer. Using fused camera and radar technology, ALA2 can help keep the truck centered in its lane and can help correct lane drifting to support greater driver comfort with steering assistance in crosswinds, after blowouts, and during low-speed maneuvering.
Front Guard Alert (FGA) helps expand driver awareness when stopped or at low speeds. Short-range radar units activate to detect pedestrians and bicyclists in the truck's path. If detected, this passive system uses a visual and audible alert to warn the driver of the risk, helping avoid incidents and improve safety.

It operates through an automatic thermostat to maintain desired temperatures and is both FET-exempt and California Air Resources Board-certified. Compatible with inverters and solar panels, it offers cost and operational advantages over traditional APUs by operating solely on the auxiliary battery pack, reducing main engine runtime and emissions.
